Flash is a great program for presentation, interaction, and content manipulation just ask anyone who’s been doing web design. Ask the same people and they will tell you that a webpage created in Flash is mostly invisible to search engines. This is because search engines are inspecting the internet for text content.

This is not to say Flash, sometimes call Shockwave, should not be used to enhance your business site. There are ways to make Flash complement your business site.

• Place all pertinent text in the  HTML or some other web base language (PHP, ASP,  Perl for example) instead of in the embedding in the Flash portion of the page
• Place the important keywords (in informative sentences) before the Flash content in the web page
• Keep your product or service in mind don’t let interactivity or fancy animation distract your customer
