So you may have noticed many more link networks or reciprocal link websites popping up on the web, or maybe you've heard people talking about them. Well what are they?

Link networks are simply a number of websites that share links from one website to another. The reason for this is Google, arguable the largest search engine site in the world or cyber world, ranks your website by the number and ranking of pages link to your site.

So what has taken place is a number of companies have created business models that connect websites wanting to share links and raise there ranking in Google. Google looks upon gathering links just to raise the ranking as cheating the system. If a site is seen to be unscrupulous it can be banned from the Google search engine all together. It is better to share links to promote ideas rather than promote for ranking

Google system of ranking is based on a 10 point structure. The ranking is done on an algorithmic basis. Google's bots (programs that collect data when scanning the internet) spider or crawl the web and check for links between website and other bits of data. These bots check to see if a site is linked to sites with the same kind of content, what the content is, and the ranking of the sites that are linked to your site.

In other word your site will be ranked by ranking of the site linked to your web page. If you link with a low level website it can affect what order your website is listed in Google. This is not the only factor things like meta tags, content of the webpage, and text within your page has a bearing on where you when an end user does a search.

So as so keep the content of your as the focus and if you join a link sharing partnership make sure that the sites you are sharing links with are good for the end users coming to your site, and not just to get ranked.
